HGV2 Driver

HGV Class 2 Driver - Southampton - £17.00 per hour

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join a busy and well-established operation based in Southampton.

The Role

This is a multi-drop Class 2 driving role involving deliveries and collections across multiple sites.

Duties include:

• Completing an average of 6 to 7 drops per shift
• Early shifts may involve 9 to 10 drops on average
• Loading and unloading cages using a lift
• No pallet work involved
• Delivering and collecting at each site
• At some locations, this may involve taking off 3 cages and collecting 5 cages

This is a physically active role, so candidates should be comfortable with manual handling and working efficiently to schedule.

Shift Patterns Available

We currently have vacancies on the following shifts:

2 vacancies are currently available on the late shift.

Please note:

• 9-hour shift
• 45-minute unpaid break

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• A valid HGV Class 2 licence
• Held your Class 2 licence for a minimum of 6 months
• At least 6 months' Class 2 driving experience
• A professional and reliable approach to work

A clean licence is desirable.

Please note there is zero tolerance for alcohol or drug-related points on your licence.

Duration

This booking is expected to run for at least one month, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position for the right candidate.

Training and Induction

On your first day, you will attend:

• An induction
• Completion of paperwork
• Health & Safety briefing
• A route familiarisation alongside an experienced member of the team

The first day will start at either 1:00pm or 6:00am, depending on operational requirements.
